I baked cookies this past Sunday. A lot of cookies.
Oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, macadamia nut, snickerdoodles.
...and strawberry flavored rice krispy treats.

So I'm sitting here waiting for my iPod attachment to be installed. The service guy comes over and says that I have Sirius... and that Sirius and the iPod attachment use the same plug. I can't have both unless they install a switch.
Cost of the iPod attachment fully installed? $300 plus change.
Cost of the switch fully installed before I can have both Sirius and iPod? $250 plus change.
I made a fuss but told them to go ahead and do it. I want my iPod, damnit, and I just renewed my Sirius subscription so I'm not going to get rid of that.
I find it kind of ridiculous that I'm paying $550 just so I can listen to my iPod through my car speakers.... I'm a bit stupid.
I guess I'm going to have no problem spending the check I just received.
Someone.... beat some sense into me! (although it will be too late cus it's all going to be installed in 45 minutes)
|Wow - part deux
I was just handed a check for $1,375.00. I mentioned that the searching took a bit longer than I expected so they told me to just update the invoice with the actual number of hours...so I added an additional 2.5 hours of labor.
I was up all night working on the project. I spent most of Sunday cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking so I didn't complete as much as I anticipated during the day. I literally finished at 7:00 this morning. I haven't slept.
I'm at the car dealership right now getting an oil change and having the iPod adapter for Mazdas installed. Once that's done, I'll be able to listen to my iPod through my speakers and control it with the buttons on my steering wheel. :-)
I'm awake right now only because I had a venti coffee on my drive to Orlando. It didn't kick in until I got downtown, so the first 45 minutes of the drive were dreadful and I kept yelling at myself to stay awake. By the time I parked downtown, I was hyper and bouncy. It lasted throughout my meeting with the client. Now I'm at the dealership and I'm crashing. Gonna have to grab a cup of their coffee to keep me going!
I made dinner last night for Bryan and Jackson. We had stuffed baby bella mushrooms with asiago and proscuitto; salad with feta, walnuts, apples and onions; fusilli with panceta, onions and sliced baby bellas and dessert was a sticky toffee pudding with both homemade butterscotch sauce and whipped cream. It was all delightfully sinful. Bryan is moving to NYC this week and that makes me sad. I'll miss flirting with him and making him feel awkward and uncomfortable. :-)
I'm leaving for Maryland Wednesday afternoon, directly from work. Brady wants me to have lunch at the restaurant where he's working Thursday. I anticipate I will be coming back home sometime on Friday because I would like to be back by Saturday so I still have a couple weekend days left.
And last, but not least.... I'm fugly and need to start back at the gym ASAP.

I have my first not not-for-profit client. I feel like I'm getting paid an insane amount of money, but it seems they didn't even blink when reading my quote.
The project involves rendering 35 videos from google earth pro. They'll be handing me a check Monday morning when I drop off the CD with the videos.
All this for a presentation they are doing for some of their partners... They have tech guys, but their equipment isn't up to par for the rendering.
I hope they think of me for more projects! I could get used to these sorts of payments....

I just saw the insurance statement for my car's repairs from it being stolen. Total cost of repairs was $3,781.49.
I bought a hookah. It should arrive Friday. I haven't smoked one since I was in England three years ago.

|Food and Future.
I have stopped going out to eat and I have been cooking a lot lately.
Frankly, I'm broke and cannot afford to go out anymore. The car problems have taken around $900 out of my pocket and my finances are a bit screwed. I've decided to make a menu and go grocery shopping every two weeks and take out $60 cash as spending money to last until the next grocery shopping trip two weeks later. Most of that $60 is spent at Barnes & Noble on drinks and book(s).
My meals thus far have consisted of curry vegetables with couscous, pad thai, spaghetti basil torte, southwest fettucine, risotto florentine, orzo pasta with lots of veggies, polenta with garden vegetables, vegetarian sloppy joes and a stacked enchilada bake. I probably should have taken pictures to show off my amazing culinary skills, but alas.... :)
My forthcoming meals include risotto primavera, red beans and rice in the crockpot and "meat lover's" lasagna.
Yes, everything has been vegetarian. I bought a vegetarian cookbook so I could start eating a bit healthier here at home. Nothing has been bad really, but I'm not a huge fan of polenta so far.
I need to bake some more soon. I'm trying to decide if I want to make some chili and take it into work or if I should just bake cookies again. The last time I baked cookies everyone loved 'em. I baked thirteen dozen cookies and they were gone in a day and a half.
I am seriously considering law school because I don't know what else to do. Before I can do that, though, I need to get all of my finances in order and my debt seriously reduced. I'm doing some credit juggling right now to take advantage of some low balance transfer APRs and I'm hoping that will help me get on track.
I pulled my credit report the other day and everything looks good so my credit should be pretty solid. As long as I don't apply for any new credit cards, I should have my credit score back up into the 700s by the end of this year. Honestly, I don't know where it is right now, but I know that it went down a bit over the past two years because of my car purchase and because I applied for several credit cards over a short period of time last summer.
I will probably start studying for the LSAT soon. For the time being, I am just spending most of my time at Barnes & Noble reading. I go there just about every night after work and then come home and cook dinner. My life is so boring! Oh well.
As usual, my love life is pretty non-existent. There have been some sparks, but they all seem to fizzle out the moment we meet in person and they decide to never see me again whilst saying "oh yea, we should definitely meet up again." Am I a bit bitter? Absolutely.
I have tomorrow off since it's Good Friday. I had plans but they were cancelled so now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I think I'll probably wake up around 7:00 and head to Barnes & Noble...perhaps I'll grab a coffee and read the newspaper. I haven't read one of those in years...

I just wrote this as a reply to someone's comment and figured I may as well post it to briefly explain what's going on.
My car was stolen. I had to pay $304 cash to get it out of impound where it was stored for 7 days for processing once it was recovered.
There was no processing. When I got the car back there was weed and crack cocaine in it. Not to mention other evidence (two cell phones, a case of CDs, a CD in my player, pieces of paper with phone numbers on it, etc etc etc).
I've yet to get a call back from a detective/investigator in the three weeks since my house was broken into and my car was stolen.
I had to get my chief deputy and major of operations involved where I work (Sheriff's office in county north of where I live) just to get the weed and crack taken out of my car.
This entire thing has been a clusterfuck.
I was driving a rental for the 10 days after I returned from Maryland until my car was released to me. I had my car back for 4 days and I just dropped it off at the body shop this morning where I had to get another rental. I imagine I'll have this one for at least 3-5 days because there's a lot of painting that has to be done to repair all of the scratches and dents on my car.
The drama of my car is ongoing. Ugh.
At some point I'll get a chance to write it all down. For the time being, I'm so pissed off that I really just can't take the time to do it.
Total damages to my car so far: $2200. That's prior to checking the brakes and engine.

|It Just Keeps Getting Better And Better...
I drove Brady up to Maryland Thursday night/Friday morning because he moved back home after some problems in Orlando. I'm here until Sunday afternoon when I fly back.
Last night (Friday), my house was broken into and burglarized. They found my spare car keys and stole my car. They did not steal my plasma TV, nor any of my DVDs, nor the multiple DVD players and surround sound systems. They also did not steal one of my roommate's laptop, whilst they did steal a watch and cash.
Soo... I'm not even sure how to process this. I've filed a claim with my insurance company. When I get home tomorrow I will look around to see if anything else is missing from my room and call the Daytona Beach Police to make a statement.
I guess all I can do is get a rental car... The police say they will probably find it within a week, either abandoned in a parking lot or they'll pull it over.
On a side note, I am NOT impressed with the Daytona Beach Police Department. That's all I'm going to say about that.

I am so going to fail tomorrow. :(
|I Feel Fine.
That's a lie.
I went to bed last night feeling nothing but tired after sitting at Starbucks for 4.5 hours studying for this cursed test Friday morning. This morning, I woke up with a swollen, sore throat and a headache that could mean nothing less than a feverish body temperature.
If I'm not better by 9:30am tomorrow, the gods are going to have some 'splainin to do!

|Microsoft Exam 70-290
I have scheduled my first exam towards the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer for this coming Friday morning.
Luckily I get to take an Agency car since they are paying for the exam. I won't have to pay for gas!
I'm going to buy the book for Exam 70-291 tonight and hopefully I get it Saturday so I can start studying.
